VisionTejiendo Sonrisas helps individuals who are institutionalized in residential care centers become aware of their sexual and reproductive health and rights. Tejiendo Sonrisas also helps these individuals choose a contraceptive method and/or have an autonomous position on their family planning once discharged from homes.
Tejiendo Sonrisas Commitment Narratives
- Increase the number of attendees to the workshops on sexual and reproductive health and rights and family planning from 35 to 50 adolescents and young people by the end of 2023.
- Improve access to family planning for vulnerable women, particularly adolescent mothers, adolescents, and young victims of trafficking and/or gender-based violence.
- Increase the percentage of young graduates of the protection system who access family planning from 45% to 65% by the end of 2023.
- Strengthen collaboration with institutions allied with FP2030 to expand support and resources for sexual and reproductive health initiatives.
- Establish new connections with health posts and gynecological centers to enhance access to contraceptive methods and comprehensive care.
- Provide sensitization and education to institutionalized adolescents and young people in residential care centers to raise awareness about their sexual and reproductive health and rights.
- Offer post-discharge support and guidance to adolescents and young people in making informed decisions about their family planning options.
- Explore partnerships and connections with local associations in other regions of Peru to facilitate referrals and access to family planning services for graduates living outside metropolitan Lima.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the workshops and educational programs in achieving the desired outcomes.
- Prepare for future commitments by building a network of support and resources to sustain and expand the program beyond 2023.
