Niger
Niger has developed a comprehensive National Family Planning Costed Implementation Plan (NFPCIP) that outlines strategies and activities to increase access to family planning services and reduce unmet need.
The country has also implemented a number of innovative approaches to expand family planning services, including community-based distribution of contraceptives, mobile clinics, and increasing the availability of long-acting and reversible contraceptive methods.

VisionBy 2030, Niger aims to provide comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services and eliminate discrimination, coercion, and violence for all girls and women, including those in vulnerable situations.
Niger Commitment Objectives
- Increase the Modern Contraceptive Prevalence Rate from 21.8% in 2020 to 29.3% in 2025, and to 36.8% in 2030.
- Strengthen the governance of the implementation by creating an interministerial steering committee as soon as possible.
- Mobilize associations and organizations serving young people and those run by young people, including young people in humanitarian emergencies or with disabilities (legal, physical, mental, sensory, etc.), and strengthen their participation in the implementation of actions targeting young people through a strategic adult-young partnership from 2021.
- Scaling Up Postpartum/Abortion Family Planning (PFPP/A) at all SR contact points by the end of 2025.
- Reduce from 38% in 2021 to 10% in 2025, the proportion of public health facilities with discontinuation of contraceptive methods at all levels, including the last mile.
- Increase the mobilization of domestic resources for the purchase of contraceptive products and medical consumables up to 500,000,000 CFA the budget for the purchase of contraceptive products in Niger by 2025 with an increase in the State budget line by 10 % every year.
